There’s so many things that can be said about trading stocks. First of all, lets talk about the stock market. The stock market didn’t have a date where it was invented, but the first public traded company was said to have been the east india tea company and the dutch east india sea company. It issued common shares that anyone could buy. It was perhaps one of the greatest stocks of it’s time and was comparable to berkshire hathaway today in that it made all of it’s investors rich. The difference was, this company paid a hefty 17% dividend, and continued to pay it every year. Everyone who owned that company shared in america’s growing prosperity as it discovered america and thrived. Ironically enough, the dutch east india company also was the first real protected company that was in a sence a limited liability company. The stock market has evolved quite a bit since then.
The basics of trading stocks are the same as they were back in the 1600s. The difference is, now you can actually trade within seconds, rather than weeks or months. The internet allows just about anyone to place a trade, and the stock market is an exciting place to be involved in. Trading stocks is not for everyone, however it can be a lot of fun.
